A dated record of every meaningful change to the calculators, guides, content, and infrastructure of uktaxdrag.co.uk. Updated on each deploy. Subscribe via the RSS feed to get notified when new entries appear.
Convention: a major entry is a new tax year, a new calculator, or a content overhaul. A feature entry is a new module or upgrade to an existing tool. An update entry is a refinement, correction, or non-breaking improvement.

Major
Premium calculator shell: all 56 calculator and tool pages now share a unified luxury design system — gold-fill sliders, sliding toggle indicators, tile-lift hover states, animated result reveals, dark-mode chart palette.
Premium chart engine: bespoke SVG chart engine with hover crosshair, axis tooltips, keyboard navigation, and reference-line support; six calculators (compound interest, FIRE, ISA vs GIA, mortgage, salary sacrifice, student loan) migrated to the new engine.
Multi-page branded PDF export: rewritten so every calculator produces a two-page advisory-style PDF with hero result card, KPI tiles, embedded vector chart, two-column inputs, and a paginating year-by-year breakdown.
Google Analytics 4 wired in with Google Consent Mode v2 defaults — deny-by-default for UK / EEA / Swiss visitors, granted for major non-EU markets, with the AdSense CMP banner updating consent state on user choice.
Web Vitals + custom event tracking: LCP, INP, CLS, scroll-depth milestones, calculator engagement, action clicks, CMP consent state, outbound link clicks all stream to GA4.
Last-reviewed badge + source citations on every calculator: visible review date with link to changelog and methodology, plus a structured "Official sources used on this page" strip pulling from a 40-entry canonical UK sources library (HMRC / gov.uk / FCA / Bank of England / ONS / MoneyHelper).
Trust + ad infrastructure: kids print packs and primary-age (under-13) pages excluded from ad serving per the advertising policy; defensive runtime data-tdx-no-ads tag honoured; AdSense Auto Ads activated to maximise placement.
"Continue your journey" recommendation strip now appears at the foot of every calculator and guide, pulling from the page's own related-block links to keep readers in the site.
Keyboard shortcut overlay (press ?) listing all available shortcuts — site search, dark mode, chart navigation, PDF.
FAQPage schema auto-detector: 20 explainer pages (how-/what-/why-/do-i-/tip-) now emit Schema.org FAQPage data, helping Google show "People also ask" cards in search results.
Auto-generated sitemap.xml wired into the Netlify build chain — new pages are automatically indexed with proper lastmod, changefreq and priority.
SEO + E-E-A-T: dateModified and dateReviewed schema fields, expanded editorial policy (sources hierarchy, fact-checking, conflict-of-interest, AI use disclosure), 404 catch-all rule.

Major
New tools: tax code decoder, HMRC letter decoder, tax-year transition checker, Self Assessment readiness checklist, side-hustle tax wizard.
Kids lesson packs print rewritten — popup-window approach replaces the brittle window.print() + @media print stage. Both lesson packs and worksheets/certificates now print correctly in any browser context.
Build pipeline hardened: search index, JSON-LD schemas, breadcrumbs, related-calc footers, sources, and trust blocks all rebuild on every Netlify deploy. Manual-step drift is no longer possible.
Dev/QA artifacts removed from the deployable tree (browser profile, screenshots, internal audit JSON, working-notes MD).
Sitemap regenerated from disk with real lastmod dates per page; previously drifted by ~10 entries.
Netlify scenario-sync function hardened with per-IP rate limiting (5 req/60s) and 256 KB body-size guard.
Organization JSON-LD on the homepage extended with logo, description, knowsAbout, areaServed.
About page title rewritten to capture "who runs it, how it's funded, editorial stance".
