FAQs
What goes in a typical issue?
Anything that materially changed for UK personal tax in the previous month. Examples: an HMRC rate change, a Budget item, a new calculator on the site, a court case affecting a common scenario, a deadline reminder (Self Assessment in January, ISA reset in April, etc.). Two to four short items, max.
How is this different from your RSS feed?
The RSS feed updates with every page change. The newsletter is curated — only items we think are worth your attention reach the email. If you read RSS already, you do not need both.
Will you ever sell or share my email?
No. The list lives in Netlify Blobs (UK/EU storage) and is only ever used to send the monthly UK Tax Drag newsletter via Resend. No third-party tools, no analytics on the email, no tracking pixels. The only people who can read your email are the editorial team via the secure admin export route.
What if I want to unsubscribe?
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer that removes you immediately. No confirmation steps, no offers to keep you, no "are you sure?". You can also email unsubscribe@uktaxdrag.co.uk from the address you signed up with.
Is there a Substack?
No. We deliberately use our own Netlify-hosted infrastructure rather than a third-party platform. Substack would mean a tracking pixel, behavioural analytics on opens, and a third-party privacy policy stacked on ours. The deal here is simpler.
